Polling underway at 43 stations of NA-250 in re-run election


KARACHI: Re-polling at the 43 polling stations in Karachi NA-250 constituency is underway amid tight security.
About 86,000 people would cast their ballots in the re-polling. The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen have announced boycott of the re-polling after the ECP rejected their demands to hold re-election in the entire constituency.
Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) spokesman has said that polling was continuing unabated, adding that commission’s officials were supervising the balloting.


The ECP said staff and election material had been sent for the partial re-election while army and the Rangers personnel have been deployed for security.
Polling would continue till 5:00 pm without any break. Re-polling would also be held for PS-112 and 113 constituencies of the Sindh Assembly.
