Sindh Govt, Opposition name Justice (r) Qurban Alvi as Caretaker CM

KARACHI: Sindh Government and the Opposition have finally come to an accord and have named Justice (retd) Qurban Alvi as the Caretaker Chief Minister Tuesday, Geo News reported.

The Sindh Assembly is expected to be dissolved on Tuesday night. The announcement is likely to be made after a meeting between Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and Opposition Leader in the Sindh Assembly Syed Sardar Ahmed where they would also announce name of caretaker chief minister.

Sources said that the chief minister has also convened a meeting of his cabinet here today to discuss the situation.

Justice (retd) Zahid Qurban Alvi had emerged as the most favourite contender for the slot after the consultation between the government and the opposition, the sources added.
